@britishvoogue February 2022 issue....was the cover 'Art'? In the eyes of the creator 💯, was it a true narrative and representation of African beauty as claimed 0%, how about best representation of their unique individual beauty? Was this the best way globally, to display the models art as leaders in their craft and does it truly represent diversity and the models diverse Heritage?
On the issue of ‘beauty’ how is black as a label really beautiful...who coined the term black as an adjective to describe humans...is any human really the colour of black or white, and why do we as people still use these terms?
… for those who are of African heritage, through whose gaze should your story be told, written and expressed with artistic perspective? Does accountability matters regardless of who is telling the narrative?
"We don't want you to make us the Black you want. We want us as us" says Akau Jambo and Daniel Luke Emuna comments are even more telling, is it accurate to ‘...constantly communicate that the deepest darkest hue in complexion represents the truest essence of Blackness or even Africanness’?
.... and @britishvoogue these individuals are 'Global citizens' with African Heritage, they describe themselves as such. They own their heritage, let them write the narratives.
